Born to Kvetch comes out in paperback

The paperback edition of Born to Kvetch comes out on August 15th. This "director's cut" edition comes with extra essays and commentary by Wex. To coincide with the launch, Wex will be giving a talk and book-signing at the Lincoln Centre branch of Barnes and Noble in New York City on Wednesday 16th August at 7pm. This is followed by another personal appearance at Joseph Beth Booksellers in Cincinnati on Thursday 17th August, also at 7pm. Later this month Wex will be teaching at Klezkanada and on Labor Day he will be conducting a kvetching workshop at the Ashkenaz Festival. Click here to check where else Wex will be appearing in the coming months.

Stop kvetching – start shopping!

Following the huge popularity of Born to Kvetch t-shirts amongst friends and staff at Klezkamp this year, we have decided to start merchandising on the website. We have just opened the Yiddish World of Michael Wex Online Store – your one-stop shop for all your kvetch-related gift items.

Micah Mushmelon – at last in English

We are currently in the process of preparing an English version of The Adventures of Micah Mushmelon: Boy Talmudistwhich we will be selling in the on-line store – previously this book has only been available in German.

Articles

The following are four articles previously published in Wex’s Kvetch column in the Jewish Week.

1. a knakker on a nun - when you're losing your touch...

And Finally.....Wex’s Kvetch of the Month:

I’m distressed to discover that a man who can produce The Passion of the Christ feels compelled to apologize for his attitude toward my beleaguered people. Goyisher kop! You don’t apologize – you just go on blaming the Jews. Mel needs help. Please do him and the Jewish people a huge favor: send him a copy of Born to Kvetch and help the healing begin. Let him know that we've got the post office.

Look out for your next edition of Vekslblat in the first week of September!
